Extension and Remodelling, Newbury
Inspiration were asked to rethink the way the whole ground floor worked to this detached home in Berkshire.
The key move was to relocate the kitchen from it’s original location at the front of the house to the rear. This allowed a huge, open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area to be created within a ‘wrap around’ corner extension . This new extension opens onto the garden with a wide stretch of bistro doors, the floor levels continuing unbroken between inside and outside.
Full use was made of ceiling heights to create an even more lofty and spacious feel. The family now say that they rarely use any other room on the ground floor as this has now become the heart of the house.
